The order to read a sermorelin for sale listing in
Start with the physical description, because it is the part a photograph cannot fake for long. You are looking for a lyophilised powder in a sealed glass vial with a crimped cap, a stated quantity on the label, and a research use designation somewhere on the page.
Then find the lot number. A listing that names a lot and publishes a document tied to it is telling you something you can verify in a browser tab. A listing that shows a generic certificate with the batch field blank, or a certificate dated years earlier than the stock, is showing you paper rather than evidence.
Third, open the certificate and read its header before its results. The header tells you which laboratory ran the work, on what date, and by which method. The results tell you what that laboratory was asked to look for, which is a narrower question than most buyers assume.
Only then does the price mean anything, because a per-milligram figure calculated from a label claim and a per-milligram figure calculated from a measured quantity are two different numbers.
What each listing claim rests on
Most of the copy on a peptide listing is unsupported by design. The table below separates the claims that a document can settle from the ones that are decoration.

Two rows carry most of the weight. The purity row is the claim sellers make loudest and it is genuinely checkable here. The endotoxin and sterility rows are the claims buyers assume and this lot's certificate does not address.
The lot that publishes a number
Lot 38-01260229 was analysed by MZ Biolabs at 2102 N Country Club Rd, Tucson, Arizona, on 7 February 2026, with the report signed on 13 February by Ken Pendarvis. The method was HPLC-UV-MS and four peaks were detected. Purity came back at 99.79 percent, and measured quantity came back at 11.31 mg against a 10 mg label.
That last figure is the unusual one. Most research listings publish purity and stop, because purity is the flattering number and net content is the risky one. Publishing a measured quantity means publishing a result that could have come in low. On this lot it came in 13.1 percent high, which is an overfill rather than a shortfall, and which quietly moves the real cost of the vial.
The identity check is worth a moment too. The sequence printed on the certificate converts to YADAIFTNSYRKVLGQLSARKLLQDIMSR, twenty nine residues with a C-terminal amide, which is canonical GHRH(1-29). PubChem CID 16132413 lists formula C149H246N44O42S and a molecular weight of 3357.9 g/mol, and the vendor's own description matches all three. The vial holds the molecule the label names.
Both of those figures belong to this lot. Testing scope and fill quantity are properties of a batch, not promises about the next one, and the honest way to read them is as a worked example of what this seller publishes rather than as a guarantee attached to your parcel. The price arithmetic follows from them directly.
The gap this certificate leaves open
There is no endotoxin test on lot 38-01260229 and no sterility test. For a powder that is sold dry and reconstituted later, that is the most consequential omission on the page, and it takes ten seconds to notice once you know to look.
The reason it matters is not our opinion. FDA's stated concern for the peptides it did place in Category 2 is the "risk for immunogenicity ... due to the potential for aggregation and peptide-related impurities". That is an impurity and handling question, and it is exactly the question purity by HPLC does not answer. A compound can be 99.79 percent the intended molecule and still carry bacterial endotoxin, because endotoxin is measured by a different assay entirely.
We link this vendor and we still say this: the certificate covers two things and leaves two open, and a reader who does not know that is worse informed than one who does. Formats that should end the reading early
Three variants turn up on this compound and each is a reason to close the tab rather than to negotiate.
Pre-mixed solution. Peptides are freeze-dried for shipping because degradation runs faster in liquid than in a dry cake. A seller shipping sermorelin already in solution has either not thought about stability across an unknown transit, or is relying on you not to. Nothing on a certificate can tell you what a wet vial did in a warm van.
Blends. A vial containing sermorelin plus one or more other compounds makes every number on the certificate harder to attribute. Purity of what, measured against which expected mass, at which retention time. The document stops being a check and becomes a decoration.
Capsules, sprays and troches sold as equivalents. These are different products with different delivery questions, and a research listing that offers them alongside a vial is describing a market it has decided to serve rather than a laboratory supply. If the format changes, the certificate you were shown for the powder no longer describes what you are buying.
You will also meet "pharmaceutical grade" on this compound more often than on most, because sermorelin genuinely used to be a pharmaceutical. That history does not create a current standard. Geref is discontinued, there is no active US label, and there is therefore nothing for a research vial to be graded against. The phrase is doing marketing work, not regulatory work.
The claim no research listing is allowed to make
A research supplier is not a pharmacy. It cannot tell you what a compound does in a person, cannot recommend a quantity, and cannot describe an outcome. When a listing crosses those lines, the interesting part is not the claim itself but what it tells you about the seller's read of its own obligations.
That restraint sits oddly against sermorelin's actual regulatory history, which is more favourable than the research-peptide framing implies. Sermorelin was an approved US drug: Geref, NDA 019863 for pituitary diagnostics with submissions from May 1991, and NDA 020443 for therapeutic use, approved on 26 September 1997, both from EMD Serono. Both are marked Discontinued today, and FDA's product record carries the Federal Register determination that the product was not discontinued or withdrawn for safety or effectiveness reasons.
There is no current US label, and DailyMed returns no sermorelin listings. Sermorelin is also absent from FDA's Category 2 bulk substances list in every section, active and withdrawn, while ibutamoren mesylate sits there under both 503A and 503B and ipamorelin acetate, GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 sit there too. What the evidence actually covers
The approved indications were paediatric growth hormone deficiency and pituitary diagnostics. That is what the literature is about. PubMed returns 332 papers mentioning sermorelin and 3 with it in the title, and ClinicalTrials.gov registers no studies naming it at all.
The adult market that grew up around the compound sells sleep, body composition and vitality. PubMed returns zero papers for sermorelin and anti-aging. A listing can be entirely honest about its lot and its laboratory while sitting inside a market whose central promise has no literature behind it, and both of those things can be true at once.
After you press pay
The sequence from that point is short and mostly out of your hands: dispatch, transit, a small box, a vial to check against the certificate you already read.
Start with the lot number stamped on the vial label. If it does not match the document you were shown before checkout, you have been sent a different batch, and the purity and quantity figures you based the decision on describe someone else's parcel. That is not necessarily a fault, since stock rotates, but it does mean the numbers move and you should ask for the certificate that belongs to what you were sent.
Then look at the physical state. The crimp should be intact and the stopper undisturbed. The powder should be dry and adherent to the glass rather than wet, slurried or rattling loose as free grains. A cake that has partly collapsed or settled to one side is common and unremarkable. Discolouration is not.
Temperature on arrival is the check most buyers over-weight. A lyophilised powder is shipped dry precisely because it tolerates ambient transit, so a warm box is not a spoiled box. Cold storage becomes the relevant question only once material is in solution, at which point it is a handling matter rather than a shipping one.
Finally, run the arithmetic on what you actually received rather than on what the listing advertised.
